Scuka Progresses at Penticton Kiwanis Seniors’ Housing Project
Trades have been very busy at the Penticton Kiwanis Seniors’ Housing construction site. Concrete planters have been cast by Total Concrete by Design at the west side of building. Concrete columns required for bus stop as well as bridges have been completed by Skaha Structures. They are currently installing the bridge walkway. Drywall in the third floor suites has been completed by All-Roc Drywall and continues with the taping of units on the second floor. Sun Valley Electric is installing light fixtures on the fourth floor, as well as working on the electrical rough-in in the amenity areas.
Update on Penticton Kiwanis Project by Scuka Enterprises
Scuka Enterprises is placing a lot of focus and effort on meeting the completion date for the the Penticton Kiwanis Multifamily Housing construction project. Ploutos Enterprises has completed a moisture test on units on the fourth floor and gave the ok for the installation of flooring. Ceiling texture was begun in some units on the third floor. The flooring mock up for unit 401 was done. Cabinets are being installed in each unit on the fourth floor. Elevator door frames were insulated. Scuka employees continue to keep the work site clean and deleiver materials to the trades on site.
Scuka’s Update on Penticton Kiwanis Multifamily Project
Pro-Crete Ltd poured half of the thirrd floor with Gyp-Crete this week. Zapora Painting primed before the Gyp-Crete installation, and is continuing to prep and spray paint the wood work on the fourth floor. All-Roc Drywall is taping in the second and third floor suites, with drywall boarding in progress in the first floor suites. Sun Valley Electric is working on the electrical finish on the fourth floor, following the painters, and is finishing the electrical rough-in in common areas. D&G Mechanical has installed all bathroom fans and ducting for the second floor and is working on the make-up air ducting. Conroy Exteriors is making great progress in applying siding to the building, with the front of the building being 75% complete and the back about 50% complete. Sandhill Mechanical has finished the gas connections to the make up air units, the gas meter, and boilers.

Scuka Enterprises is pleased with the progress of the Penticton Kiwanis Multifamily housing project to date. This week saw 75% of the siding installed on the front face of the building by Conroy Exteriors. Skaha Structures casted approximately half of the trellis columns and fence columns. Peoples Insulation completed the roof insulation and first floor suites insulation. Sun Valley Electric has finished suite wiring for all units and will next work on the common area wiring. Zapora Painting is working on the fourth floor woodwork preparation. All-Roc Drywall completed boarding of the third floor suites and began spray texture of units on that floor. Hi-Line Industries has the cabinets installed in one suite as a mock up. ThyssenKrupp Elevators began elevator installation.

This week we backfilled the bridge area and graded the hill alongside it. Sun Valley Electric installed the main electric wires to have permanent power in the building with power to each suite on the third and fourth floor, and is in the finishing stages on the first floor electrical rough in.
Scuka Enterprises installed the fire caulking on the first floor suites, including the fire caulking inspections from Philip MacDonald Architect and City of Penticton inspectors.
Peoples Insulation installed the roof loose-fill insulation for the north side of the building, with the remainder expected to be installed next week.

Construction on the Penticton Kiwanis Seniors’ Housing has really moved forward. Skaha Structures worked on the form work for the bridge and columns for the bus stop. Conroy Exteriors is about 75% complete with installation of deck soffits and deck post and beam cladding. Grading was done at the back of the building, and is ready for landscaping.
Pro-Crete Ltd placed Gyp-Crete on the fourth floor. All-Roc Drywall has been taping on the third and fourth floors. Sun Valley Electric has been busy wiring in several suites.

Construction on Penticton Kiwanis Seniors’ Housing project saw Conroy Exteriors completing approximately 65% of the deck soffit installation.
Sandhill Mechanical has completed the rough-in plumbing for the building. Sun Valley Electric is pulling wires for units on the second floor. Peoples insulation has completed their installation for all the third floor units, and has also spray-foamed the second floor rim joist cavities. All-Roc Drywall has started boarding on the third floor, while Zapora Painting has started priming units on the fourth floor.
ThyssenKrupp Elevator delivered the elevator parts and is awaiting permanent power to start installing the elevators.
Construction Update on Penticton Kiwanis Multifamily Project
Construction in Penticton’s Van Horne Street for the Penticton Kiwanis’s Seniors Housing project, being developed by Scuka Enterprises, had the excavation completed for installation of Telus and Shaw conduit across the road this past week. Scuka’s in house crews have continued working on the incidental back framing and installation of the building paper. The exterior of the multifamily housing project has Conroy Exteriors progressing with the soffit installation at the deck areas, and the south side is almost complete. Total Concrete by Design placed and finished all the patios and entrances. Interior Roofing has completed the main roof including flashing and the elevator roof. The building is really starting to shape up from the outside!
Penticton Kiwanis Multifamily Construction Site Update
This past week at the Penticton Kiwanis construction site being built by the Penticton Kiwanis society, the project’s site office was relocated to accommodate the new rainwater retention system installation. The senior’s multifamily building has quite a bit of civil work happening with the transformer base installation and connections for Telus and cable crossing the road completed.
Penticton Kiwanis Seniors Housing Construction Progress
Scuka Enterprises’ Penticton Kiwanis seniors housing construction site is progressing. Drywall boarding and taping continues on the fourth floor by All-Roc Drywall with one unit per day and taping right behind them. Installation of drop ceilings will soon follow.
Sprinkler lines installed by J&B Fire Protection were tested on the first and second floors. The fire sprinkler rough in is complete for all units and the inspection was done by the City of Penticton.
